Williston Northampton jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter. Williston Northampton QB Andrew Renzella connected with WR James Elliot twice for TDs. Both TDs were in the redzone. On the first TD, Renzella hit Elliot with a short pass. Elliot broke a tackle and sprinted for the endzone. The second TD was a slant into the endzone. Renzella threw a dart that Elliot caught, secured and scored.

In the second quarter, Brunswick began their comeback. The Brunswick offense was ran by QB Elijah Cromartie and RB Bryce Davis. Cromartie made timely passes and some good scrambles. The majority of the work was done by Davis, on the ground. He is a very good RB. He is tough and gained most of his yards running between the tackles. When Brunswick got down to the goalline, Davis powered through both lines to score.

Williston Northampton led at halftime 14-7.

In the third quarter, Brunswick tied the game @ 14. They engineered another long, methodical drive. Their drive was prolonged by a Williston Northampton defensive penalty for a horse-collar tackle. That penalty came on a 4th down and kept Brunswick’s drive going. HB Riley Redahan scored the tying TD for Brunswick on a run from the 1-yd line.

Brunswick was successful in flipping the momentum Williston Northampton had in the 1st quarter.

Brunswick scored their go-ahead TD on another long, methodical, run-heavy drive. They put the ball in the hands of Davis a lot in this game and it benefitted them greatly. Brunswick’s 1st two TDs were runs but their last TD was a pass TD from Cromartie to WR Tomas Delgado. That score put Brunswick up 21-14. They scored 21 unanswered points but Williston Northampton still had a shot to tie the game before regulation ended.

Renzella led Williston Northampton down the field, all the way to the Brunswick’s 2-yard line. Brunswick forced Williston Northampton to a 4th & 4 play with seven seconds left in the regulation. Renzella dropped back to attempt a pass. He was under heavy pressure from the Brunswick defensive line. He threw a pass over the defenders but the ball didn’t get to his target.
