(SOUTH END, SPRINGFIELD) - On Sunday afternoon, the NEPSAC Power 5 Conference concluded their season with two championship games.
The first game was Woodstock Academy - Blue vs. Springfield Commonwealth Academy - Black, for the AA Championship.
This game was a defensive battle for most of the first half. Woodstock was ahead 7-6 halfway through the first [NEPSAC games are played with two 20 minute halves]. Both teams played intense defense. It was difficult for both teams to score.
Woodstock went into halftime with the lead 23-16. There wasn’t much offense from either team in the first half.
Fourteen minutes into the second half, the offense was still scarce. Woodstock was ahead 43-31. SCA couldn’t generate easy baskets.
SCA finally caught an offensive spark. They went on a 10-1 run over the next 4 minutes. SCA was only down 44-41.
Both teams traded baskets in the last 2 minutes. Woodstock held on to win the Power 5 AA Championship 50-47.
Woodstock’s Kunga Tsering had the best performance. He plays with energy all game. His offensive skills have improved from The Collision - NYC.
